Ferrari Hypercar bites the dust in Sebring prologue

Ferrari's #51 entry saw its pre-season test cut short at Sebring last weekend following James Calado's crash on Sunday.

AF Corse, which is in charge of Ferrari's Hypercar programme in the World Endurance Championship, joined its rivals in Florida with both its cars for a two-day test prologue that preceded next weekend's season opening round in the WEC at Sebring.

While the Italian outfit enjoyed a smooth opening day on Saturday, Calado crashed the team's #51 machine on his out-lap in the morning session on Sunday, with damage forcing AF Corse to retire the car for the remainder of the session.

Toyota Gazoo Racing dominated Saturday's proceedings, with Ferrari's entries clocking in P10 and P12, while the Japanese team was also fastest on Sunday.

Ferrari's single #50 entry concluded the session 4th with Antonio Fuoco at the wheel, 1.084s adrift from its fastest Toyota rival.
