Happy Birthday Jaime Alguersuari

Formula 1 Grand Prix, Hungary, Saturday Practice

Turning 26 on this date is former Toro Rosso F1 driver Jaime Alguersuari, who took part in 46 grands prix with the small Italian team from 2009 to 2011. The Spaniard became at the time the youngest driver ever to start an F1 race at the age of 19 years and 125 days.

Alguersuari’s record lasted until Max Verstappen broke it at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix when the Dutch phenom lined up on the grid aged 17 years and 166 days.

Alguersuari retired from motorsport on 1 October 2015, saying he had “fallen out of love with this girlfriend”
