McLaren and the outfit’s primary partner OKX, a leading onchain technology company, have revealed a special livery celebrating the F1 team's heritage that will be carried by its pair of MCL38 cars this weekend in Singapore.
The ‘Legend Reborn’ design celebrates McLaren’s iconic MP4 era, which ran from 1981 to 1996, with a scheme that combines the famous period livery with the Woking-based outfit’s signature papaya.
But the livery also honours the McLaren legends – including the likes of Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Niki Lauda – that drove and helped create the iconic history of the MP4 lineage, with the names of 13 iconic drivers from the era integrated into the livery on the cockpit.
“It is fantastic to bring back our third bespoke livery in Singapore with OKX,” commented Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing officer, McLaren Racing.
“Legend Reborn is a great way to celebrate and honour our iconic history, in a way that unites fans old and new.
“Following on from this year’s Senna campaign, this livery further embodies our partnership with OKX as we continue to deliver unique story telling campaigns for McLaren fans and OKX customers globally.”
