A true class act

Formula 1 Grand Prix, Brazil, Sunday Podium

Felipe Massa came very close to winning the 2008 world championship on home soil after taking victory at that year’s Brazilian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver actually held the title for a handful of seconds until McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton managed to overtake Toyota’s Timo Glock at the final corner to secure the fifth place he needed to seal the crown. Despite the crushing disappointment, Massa showed great dignity on the podium, as he advanced to salute and thank the Interlagos crowd with tears in his eyes.
