The Canadian offered himself a fine present to celebrate his 19th birthday in finishing sixth and moving ahead of Massa in the championship. A handful of minor mistakes in qualifying relegated him to row six, but on Sunday everything went his way early and the Virtual Safety Car gifted him a free stop for tyres that allowed him to finish between the Pink Panthers.
