The young Mexican and Scuderia reserve driver mainly conducted tyre testing for Pirelli's 2016 prototype compounds and some aerodynamic work for Ferrari.
"I really enjoyed the car today as I could push and drive it really quick, so overall it was very positive," commented Gutierrez. "Work was mainly related to tyre testing and some aerodynamic testing as well in order for us to have a better direction in where we want to go in the future."
During his day of work, Esteban had a minor mishap when he slid off the track and into the gravel trap although he was able to rejoin the track without any damage. "Yes, I visited a bit of gravel as I was pushing a bit to the limit and trying different things on the car."
At the end of the day, Gutierrez was grateful for spending time in the car and hopes the outcome of his work will serve the Scuderia's interests.
'It's always great to drive a F1 car and I wish to thank the team for giving me this possibility. It was a positive day, we did some good work and concluded the program with lots of data that now needs to be analyzed back at Maranello."
