Franz Tost considers that Red Bull's current roster of Formula 1 drivers is perhaps the best the company has ever had.
Speaking exclusively to F1i, Tost believes drivers in both of Red Bull's team's are not only performing remarkably well, their abundant talent also bodes well for their future.
"I think that Red Bull currently, with Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kvyat, Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen has four very, very strong drivers with a great future, " Tost told Chris Medland's F1i.
"If you give them a reliable car, a competitive car, all four of them can win a race. If you can win a race you can also win a championship.”
While much of the focus this season is on the outstanding achievements of 17-year-old Max Verstappen, Franz Tost insists that he has been equally impressed with his Toro Rosso team-mate, Carlos Sainz Jr., whose raw speed on the track has equalled or surpassed that of the teenage flying Dutchman.
“I’m impressed by him, but I was also impressed last year when he drove the 3.5-litre World Series," confirmed Tost.
"He won ten races I think and how he won those races meant I expected a good performance from him. But sometimes I am pleasantly surprised how consistently he is coming up with good performances and therefore I am more than happy with him.”
