Former F1 driver Jos Verstappen has done a pretty good job grooming his son Max for Formula 1.
Red Bull may seek to exploit the Dutchman's talent spotting skills for its own benefit as it continues to recruit young bulls for its racing stable.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf is reporting that Max Verstappne's father will be attending the European F3 race in Pau next weekend to check out the field of young runners on behalf of Red Bull.
It is believed a formal deal between the former Grand Prix driver and Red Bull is not yet done, as the parties discuss the scope of Verstappen's eventual role.
But Verstappen confirmed the energy drink company's interest.
"Helmut (Marko) would like me to and I am open to it," he said.
