Pierre Gasly's presence at the upcoming US Grand Prix in Austin still isn't guaranteed as Honda pushes for the Red Bull junior to race in the finale the Super Formula series in Japan.
Carlos Sainz premature move from the Faenza-based outfit to Renault, which was announced yesterday, has compelled Toro Rosso to bring back Dany Kvyat for the US race, with Gasly the obvious choice as team mate.
Rumors have started to circle in Suzuka however that Honda is determined to have Gasly finish the season in Japan where he is in the running for the Super Formula finale.
Red Bull's Helmut Marko has stated that "winning Japanese Super Formula is important for Honda."
He has not given any indication however who could possibly race alongside Kvyat should Gasly remain in Japan in two weeks.
