Mercedes can sustain success - Rosberg

In spite of the reliability issues which have dogged his title hopes, Nico Rosberg is convinced Mercedes will remain at the forefront of success in Formula 1.

It's been a tough couple of months for the German driver who ended the summer under the domination of team mate Lewis Hamilton before seeing his already faint world championship hopes all but evaporate on the back of his early retirement in Sochi.

But with Mercedes clinching the Constructors title in Russia, Rosberg believes the German outfit is still the best employer in the business, and one which can durably sustain its outstanding performance level.

"Being back at the factories and seeing all my colleagues so happy after the championship win really put a smile back on my face,” Rosberg said.

“I’ve seen this team grow since the start of the Silver Arrows project in 2010 and the level we’ve got to now, all working together, is unbelievable. There were some really tough years at the start but we are now the big team of Formula 1 – dominating the sport and breaking records along the way."

“When people think of F1 throughout history, it’s only a handful of teams like McLaren in the 80s, Williams in the 90s and Ferrari in the 2000s that come to mind – and we are now making our own mark on that list."

While Ferrari has succeeded in barking at the heels of Mercedes, with Sebastian Vettel scoring three wins to date, Rosberg considers there is still a fair amount of potential to be unlocked within the German team

“What’s amazing is that there’s so much potential here too,” Rosberg said.

"Together, there’s no limit to what we can achieve in the coming years. I look forward to many more great memories and exciting times ahead.”
