Gene Haas has confirmed the second Haas F1 Team driver will be named on Friday ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix.
The team has already announced Romain Grosjean will drive for the team in 2016, with the Frenchman moving across from Lotus. Grosjean is set to be partnered with Esteban Gutierrez, with Haas confirming to Sky Sports in Austin that an announcement will be made regarding the second driver in Mexico City on Friday.
Gutierrez has been selected by Ferrari, where he is currently reserve driver. Haas has entered in to a technical partnership which has seen it working closely with Ferrari in the build-up to its debut in F1 next season, with Gene Haas confirming to F1i earlier this season the team will run one driver of Ferrari's choice.
This week, Haas said the partnership with Ferrari is designed to help cement the team's position in F1.
