Thousands of Dutch fans enjoyed a triple treat of Red Bull this weekend for Zandvoort's traditional Jumbo Race Days.
Local hero Max Verstappen flanked by Red Bull Racing team mate Daniel Ricciardo and brand ambassador David Coulthard delivered the sights and sounds to an ecstatic crowd by screaming around the famous venue's dunes in old-spec V8-powered cars.
"It is again great," says Max. "Once more, there is a large crowd, which is always beautiful and special. It is fantastic when you can drive with three Formula 1 cars.
"Something like that does not happen often and that makes it extra fun for me of course.
"There is no Grand Prix in the Netherlands, so you try to get as close to the fans as possible. It’s nice to see this many people."
Friendly but fiercely competitive as team mates, as their recent clash in Baku demonstrated, Verstappen and Ricciardo once again put their harmonious relationship to the task with a head-on confrontation involving two Aston Martin-hauled caravans.
Needless to say, it didn't go well, with Verstappen's wagon losing a wheel and the Honey Badger writing off his camper with fracas.
"My caravan is still on the track," explained the cheerful Aussie.
"It was fun, one lap we just waived at the audience, which made it look pretty nice. That changed in the second lap. Max lost a wheel and I lost my toilet.
"We lost a lot of things out there, but our dignity remains!"
Hopefully, both men will survive next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix by more than two laps!
