McLaren has added past eSports winners Enzo Bonito and Bono Huis to its F1 eSports team, where the pair will join existing McLaren simmer Olli Pahkala.
Bonito's credentials include winning this year's Race of Champions, while Huis, a five-time Formual Sim Racing champion, was the victor of last year's Formula E Vegas eRace event.
"The F1 Esports Series 2018 will be McLaren Shadow’s esports debut as a team and we look forward to bringing the passion, expertise and dedication of the entire team at McLaren to the series and giving our fans around the world another opportunity to show their support for McLaren," the Woking-based outfit said in a statement on Wednesday.
McLaren will be supported in its efforts by Team Redline, the world's most successful sim racing team that was founded over 18 years ago and has won hundreds of major titles.
Team Redline will help McLaren in the management and coaching of its F1 eSports team.
The first F1 Esports Series race will take place in early October, and will include representatives from nine of Formula 1's ten teams. Only Ferrari has declined to join the Esports craze.
