Vettel: 'A difficult day' for Ferrari

Sebastian Vettel says Ferrari had "a difficult day" during Friday practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix but is confident the team can recover.

Having been 0.6s off the pace in FP1 and just 0.1s behind second-placed Nico Rosberg, Vettel dropped further back in the afternoon session and was nearly a second adrift of Rosberg's pace-setting time. When asked about being a second behind Rosberg in FP2, Vettel replied: "It is a second too much.

"We didn’t get the best timing for our run, it was tricky for everyone, a couple of drops of rain, but overall, I think it was a difficult day. We can still improve. Looking forward to doing the analyse now and hopefully tomorrow we can do a step forward."

And Vettel believes the key to finding more performance on Saturday will come down to which team gets the tyres to work best.

"I think everyone is struggling a lot on the tyres, I think they are quite tricky to work with. I think it’s slippery for everyone. I tried to do the best I could, maybe it wasn’t quick enough. I think we can improve for tomorrow, the car is moving around quite a lot."
