Renault F1 has initiated several organizational and management changes at both its chassis and engine entities in Enstone and Viry-Châtillon.
In a bid to strengthen its efforts in F1 ahead of the sport's 2021 regulation changes as well as fulfill the objective set by its 2016 roadmap, Renault has added management positions in both its departments.
From August 1, Christophe Mary, who previously held technical responsibilities at Ferrari F1 and Mercedes HPE, will become Director of Engineering at Renault's engine base at Viry-Chatillon, while Stéphane Rodriguez has been appointed Project and Purchasing Director within the Technical Department.
Both men will report to Renault's Engine Technical Director, Rémi Taffin.
At Enstone, current Deputy Chief Designer Matt Harman has been appointed Engineering Director within the Technical Department and will report to Chassis Technical Director, Nick Chester.
All three new appointees will sit on Renault’s Formula 1 management board.
Renault says the changes will allow both Chester and Taffin to "increase their focus on the performance of the chassis and engine while overseeing the entire technical program with internal and external stakeholders".
