Sauber has announced it will run Adderly Fong during next week's Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi.

Fong previously tested for Sauber in Valencia last year, driving a two-year old C31 before he made an FP1 appearance at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix one year ago. The aim is for 25-year-old Fong - who has been competing in GP3 this season but is yet to score a point - to complete 300km in the car in order to extend his FIA superlicence.

“I am very pleased and thankful to have another opportunity to drive for the Sauber F1 Team," Fong said. "I will do my best to give valuable feedback. I am looking forward to it, as well as the aim of extending my superlicence after completing 300 kilometres.

"Last year it was great to have the chance to drive the Sauber C33-Ferrari during FP1 here at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Now I am curious about testing the current car.”

Once Fong has completed the required 300km, Marcus Ericsson will take over driving duties for the rest of the day.

All of the teams are remaining at the Yas Marina Circuit for a day of testing on Tuesday after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Pirelli working on 2016 constructions and the new ultrasoft compound.

Tuesday's running will take place from 9am until 9pm at the Yas Marina Circuit.
