Nico Rosberg is looking to extend his run of five consecutive pole positions and is favourite for pole after topping two of the three practice sessions this weekend. While Lewis Hamilton was quickest in FP1, the triple world champion made mistakes in final practice and ended up a quarter of a second slower than his Mercedes team-mate.
Ferrari is likely to be a threat after Sebastian Vettel got with 0.05s of Hamilton in FP3, though the only session with representative conditions - FP2 on Friday evening - saw the gap widen.
Force India has been the surprise package of the weekend so far with Sergio Perez third quickest in second practice and fourth in the final session. Red Bull has also been quick throughout the weekend so far and it could be a battle between three teams for the second row of the grid.
Williams has struggled somewhat compared to recent races, with both Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas comfortably slower than the leading four teams throughout all three practice sessions. McLaren has shown encouraging pace at times this weekend but Fernando Alonso warned on Friday it would not be competitive in qualifying.
