Red Bull junior Jüri Vips will make his Super Formula debut next weekend, replacing Patricio O'Ward at Team Mugen at the Japanese series' Suzuka finale.

Vips, who finished fourth in this year's FIA Formula 3 Championship, is seen by many as Red Bull's next young hopeful set with a chance of joining the F1 grid in the future.

The 19-year-old Estonian is believed to be on Helmut Marko's short list for a full-time drive in Super Formula in 2020.

Vips takes over O'Ward's seat at Mugen following a difficult three-race stint by the Mexican who struggled to make an impression in the competitive series.

However, recent improvements allowed the 20-year-old to score a sixth-place finish and his first championship points in the latest round at Okayama.

In addition to his Super Formula opportunity, Vips will also take part in November in the Macau Grand Prix, running alongside Max Fewtrell and Yuki Tsunoda with the Hitech Grand Prix squad.
