The FIA has sent a letter to Red Bull and Ferrari reminding the two outfits that COVID-19 protocol calls for the wearing of a face mask in the paddock.

The governing body's memo was dispatched after Sebastian Vettel was seen in close conversation with Red Bull's Christian Horner and Helmut Marko in the paddock on Saturday, with the group not wearing masks.

The trio's behaviour was a breach of F1's Code of Conduct which all participants must adhere to, although no sanctions are officially attached to contraventions of the code.

However, the FIA's COVID-19 delegate reminded the parties that they could be restricted from attending the Austrian Grand Prix if they don't comply with the strict safety measures in force in the F1 paddock.

So far, no positive cases have been detected among the Red Bull Ring paddock's 2000 population which is tested every five days.
