Eifel Grand Prix organisers have been given permission to welcome 20,000 fans to the Nürburgring for next month's round of the F1 world championship.
The event, scheduled on October 11, has been given the green light by local authorities to accommodate the contingent of spectators with the help of stringent safety measures that will include masks, social distancing and contactless ticketing.
However, ticket sales for each designated grandstand will be released incrementally, with the process being fulfilled over the upcoming three weeks if there is no spike in COVID-19 cases in Germany.
"It is important to us in this first stage to offer tickets in different price categories," explained Nürburgring boss Mirco Markfort.
"Of course, in times of corona, with the enormous personnel and planning effort it entails, everything is a question of cost.
"But it is also a question of giving fans the opportunity to be able to afford tickets and to experience the race safely."
Grandstand real estate will be divided into individual sections and blocks of four seats, while each grandstand will also have its specific parking area to avoid fans seated in different areas blending with each other.
Slowly but surely, fans are being allowed to return to F1's grandstands, with Sochi also set to enjoy a limited attendance next week, while new venue Portimão and F1 returnee Turkey will also welcome a restricted number of spectators.
