Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (DNF) – 3.5/10
A nightmare home outing for the Monegasque. After a fraught wheel-to-wheel scrap with his own teammate, his race came to an abrupt, violent end on lap two with a massive thud into the Monza barriers. He pointed the finger at inconsistent power delivery, but without telemetry backing him up, it looks suspiciously like a self-inflicted disaster at the worst possible venue.

Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (DNF) – 5/10
Mired in the lower mid-pack around 17th position, the veteran Spaniard spent his afternoon wrestling a stubborn Aston Martin. Fate intervened to end his suffering early when terminal bodywork damage forced an early park-up in the pit garage. A completely forgettable Italian weekend.
