Jenson Button has been confirmed for the opening night of next week’s London Classic Car Show, which takes place from February 18-21.
The McLaren-Honda ace will join the BBC's former F1 lead presenter Suzi Perry, who hosts the evening, along with special guests from the motor sport and classic car industries.
Thursday’s Preview Evening will launch a four-day ‘Great Debate’ to establish ‘which nation has produced the world’s best cars’, with the expected 30,000 show-goers asked to vote for their favourite country thereafter.
The opening ceremony will also feature two iconic kinds of racing machinery: the impressive Group B rally era with 1981 WRC champion Ari Vatanen and the fearsome McLaren F1 supercar with its renowned designer Gordon Murray also in attendance.
Button is currently preparing to take part in his 17th F1 season, with the 2009 world champion hoping to shake off McLaren-Honda’s dismal 2015 reunion and return to winning ways.
