Pirelli has revealed that the final afternoon of F1 testing in Barcelona this week will take place on a wet track to allow teams to test the supplier's wet-weather tyre.
F1 teams will kick off pre-season testing on Wednesday at the Circuit de Catalunya. In addition to this year's significant aerodynamic changes, the sport has also switched to 18-inch wheels, a new specification for which Pirelli has developed a fresh selection of tyres and compounds.
Over the course of the three days of testing in Barcelona, Pirelli will supply 30 sets of tyres to each team with each outfit choosing its sets withing an allocation of 35 slicks, 3 intermediates and 3 wets.
In the infographic below, Pirelli details its compounds, which range from the hard to soft C1 to C5 slick rubber, as well as the minimum starting pressures and camber settings.
On Friday, the final day of testing, the afternoon session will feature wet running on Barcelona's artificially dampened track with the use of water trucks.
However, if the weather in Spain naturally produces a half-day of wet running at another point during the three days, the Friday afternoon wet session will be canceled.
