Another night of track resurfacing has taken place at Miami's Turn 17 after patches of damage were identified after the opening day of practice at the venue.

On Thursday afternoon, in the wake of some hot laps conducted by F1's Safety Car and VIP vehicles, deterioration due to a known issue appeared around the hairpin located just before the start/finish straight, but also at Turns 7 and 17.

Work was conducted overnight to repair the track's surface, but after Friday's action it was decided to resurface once again a troubled area at Turn 17.

"The apex and the exit of turn 17 have been resurfaced," said FIA race director Niels Wittich in a note to competitors.

Formula 1 is sharing its track this weekend with the Porsche Sprint Challenge and with the W Series.

After Friday's F1 drivers' briefing, it was also decided that Miami's pitlane entrance would be changed, with the two kerbs forming the chicane being removed and replaced by a bollard at each apex.
