Williams has announced it has retained Alex Lynn as the team's development driver for 2016.
Lynn was named in the role at the start of last season as he embarked on his first GP2 season, with the 2014 GP3 champion driving for Williams during the in-season Barcelona test. In announcing it is retaining Lynn, Williams says the British driver will be given additional time to focus on fighting for the GP2 title in his second season in the category.
Deputy team principal Claire Williams says Lynn impressed during 2015 and the team wants to see him continuing to improve in his dual role this year.
“After a really encouraging first season with the team, we are pleased to be able to continue working with Alex in 2016," Williams said. "Alex played an important role in helping develop the team’s race cars in 2015, while at the same time demonstrating his talent with a strong debut season in GP2.
"We’re looking forward to seeing him progress this year, both within the team and as he fights for the GP2 title.”
