McLaren-Honda are picking up this morning where they left off yesterday after Fernando Alosno enjoyed a good day out on the track after completing 93 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya.
With Jenson Button on duty today, the Woking outfit will be stepping up its development of its MP4-31, putting a series of new aerodynamic bits to trial.
"We spent a good chunk of Tuesday evaluating the power unit functionality, although our attention hasn’t yet turned to assessing outright performance, " explained McLaren engineering director Matt Morris.
"The important thing was to get as many miles on this package as possible, so from that point of view and the amount of data we collected it has been very positive.
“We will continue to maximise our track time over the coming days, to work on ironing out reliability niggles and move on to longer runs.
"We also had some new aero parts which arrived overnight, which will be assessed on track today with Jenson."
