The F1 Academy series has announced that all ten Formula 1 teams will have one driver and their livery on one competing car in the all-female series starting from the 2024 season.
The Formula 4-level series that aims to develop young female drivers for the upper echelons of international single-seater racing was launched earlier this year with five participating teams: ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing and Rodin Carlin.
Each team fields three cars and three drivers but from 2024, ten of the drivers will be nominated by F1 teams and their car will feature the specific livery of their F1 benefactor, while the remaining five drivers in the series will be supported by other partners.
"First and foremost, I want to thank the Formula 1 teams for their support and vision as we embark on this journey together," said Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 Academy.
"This landmark moment not only demonstrates the depth of support for F1 Academy from across the F1 community but will inspire a whole generation of young girls to realise the opportunities both on and off track in motorsport."
Formula Academy's 2023 seven-event calendar, that includes three races per race weekend, only features one round on F1's support bill, the series' final event which will take at the US Grand Prix in Austin.
But next year, Formula Academy will feature regularly on Grand Prix racing's schedule.
"As we join the F1 calendar for next year and host F1 Academy Discover Your Drive events in the lead up to our races, I am confident that we will have a positive impact across our sport in the long term," added Wolff.
