McLaren’s resurgence reached another dazzling high in Singapore on Sunday night, as the iconic papaya team clinched their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship.

The celebration erupted across the Marina Bay paddock after Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri secured third and fourth places respectively in the 62-lap event – a result good enough to seal the crown with six races still to go.

The achievement marks McLaren’s 10th Constructors’ title and the first time the team has achieved back-to-back championships since their dominant run between 1988 and 1991. For a team that only a few years ago was fighting to reclaim its place among Formula 1’s elite, the moment was both historic and deeply emotional.

CEO Zak Brown summed up the feeling of pride sweeping through the McLaren camp.

“[It’s] pretty awesome. Unbelievable team here, unbelievable team back at the factory. All the men and women have done such an awesome job,” said the American.

“The leadership that Andrea has provided to this race team, the whole leadership team, our owners, our shareholders – it’s such a team effort. It’s pretty awesome to go back-to-back. It’s been a while since we’ve done it!”

Stella: “It’s an incredible emotion”

Team Principal Andrea Stella – the architect behind McLaren’s transformation into a consistent front-runner – was visibly moved by the scale of the team’s success.

“It’s an incredible emotion,” Stella said with a smile that captured the collective spirit of McLaren’s revival. “I want to share it with the team and thank them for the incredible work. Even with six races to go, which looks unbelievable!

“That’s thanks to the great work that has happened at McLaren. Thank you to our fans, to our sponsors, all the technical partners, it’s teamwork and it’s great that the teamwork is rewarded like this.”

For Stella, the early championship win is not a cue for complacency, but a platform for even greater ambitions.

With the 2026 regulation overhaul looming, McLaren’s focus is already shifting toward sustaining their dominance in a new era of Formula 1.
“We are definitely working very hard to continue this streak of wins into the future, with this big change of technical regulations,” Stella added. “We know it’s difficult but it’s an undertaking that we are ‘all in’ for it.”

Drivers at the Heart of McLaren’s Revival

While engineering excellence, strategy and teamwork have powered McLaren’s championship charge, Brown was quick to credit the two young stars behind the wheel.

Piastri and Norris have taken their skills to the next level this season, with seven wins for the Aussie and five for the Briton so far – a record that has defined McLaren’s return to glory.

“They’ve driven brilliantly all season. You can’t win the Constructors’ without two awesome racing drivers,” Brown said.

“As you can see, we’re letting them race. That was a bit more of a nail-biter there, but they race hard, they race clean, they race to win. A lot of racing to go, and hopefully some more victories for both of them.”

From Woking to Singapore, McLaren’s success story is one of resilience, unity, and relentless belief.

For Zak Brown, Andrea Stella, and every member of Team Papaya, this championship was more than just another trophy. It was the reward for years of rebuilding, teamwork, and faith – a celebration of what McLaren has become once again: a benchmark of excellence in Formula 1.
