Ferrari chairman John Elkann has celebrated a landmark afternoon for the Scuderia after Charles Leclerc guided the Italian team to its 250th Formula 1 Grand Prix victory with a commanding performance at Sunday's British Grand Prix.

Silverstone provided the perfect backdrop for the achievement, with Ferrari reaching the milestone at the very circuit where José Froilán González secured the team's maiden world championship race win back in 1951.

Elkann was present in the Scuderia’s garage to witness the milestone moment in the House of Maranello’s history as Leclerc controlled the race to deliver a victory that carried significance well beyond the championship points.

Leclerc launched his challenge immediately after the lights went out, sweeping past polesitter Kimi Antonelli into the lead.

While Lewis Hamilton also moved ahead of the Mercedes rookie early on, it was Leclerc who remained in command, emerging from the pit-stop phase still in front before taking the chequered flag behind the safety car.

Reflecting on Sunday’s achievement, Elkann highlighted both Ferrari's rich heritage and the collective effort behind the latest success.

"That's 250 wins for Ferrari, and the first was here at Silverstone," he said in a statement released after the race. "And this shows how important today is for our history and, above all, for the present and the future.

“When everyone at Ferrari works together, from our great drivers like Charles, who had a great race, like Lewis, to the whole team, both in Maranello and here on the track, great things happen."

Leclerc 's feeling 'back where it needs to be'

For Leclerc, the triumph represented more than another addition to his growing list of Formula 1 victories. It also marked his first British Grand Prix win and rewarded weeks of determined work to restore confidence in Ferrari's package.

Addressing the media after the race, the Monegasque driver admitted the result carried extra meaning after a challenging spell.

"It feels incredible. I mean, unfortunately the end was maybe not the one I would have dreamt of, but to win after the last few weekends that have been particularly difficult," he explained.

"All the work that we put into trying to get the feeling back in the car, I felt like I had found something yesterday between the sprint race and qualifying, but I had to confirm that today and today the feeling was back where it needs to be. So, I’m so incredibly happy."

The victory provides another timely boost for Ferrari as the season gathers momentum. Leclerc remains fourth in the drivers' standings with 108 points, while Antonelli continues to head the championship on 179 points despite failing to score at Silverstone.
