McLaren Racing is done playing the long game. Zak Brown has thrown down one of the boldest statements of intent in recent IndyCar memory, assembling a heavyweight driver roster that leaves little doubt about the team's ambitions – not just to conquer IndyCar, but to chase one of motorsport's rarest prizes.
The papaya squad confirmed that six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist will join Arrow McLaren in 2027, teaming up with Pato O'Ward in a formidable three-car Chevrolet lineup.
Veteran Ryan Hunter-Reay will also continue in the team's fourth Indianapolis 500 entry while maintaining his role as Sporting Director.
The blockbuster reshuffle means Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel will make way at the end of the 2026 campaign, as Brown doubles down on building what could become the most experienced and decorated lineup on the IndyCar grid.
And the McLaren Racing CEO isn't hiding the target.
“Our IndyCar team has shown fantastic momentum, and this lineup of Pato, Scott, Felix and Ryan will strengthen every aspect of our program,” commented Brown.
“We’ve got our eyes firmly set on the championship as well as winning the Indianapolis 500 to secure the Triple Crown in the papaya era. These four drivers bring a wealth of experience as well as great chemistry and will no doubt have a positive impact across our entire team."
"Christian’s and Nolan’s contributions have helped shape the progress we’re building on today, and I appreciate the energy and drive they have brought to the team since they joined.”

Those words underline a strategy that stretches well beyond IndyCar's championship battle. McLaren already owns victories in Formula 1 and has long made no secret of its desire to complete motorsport's prestigious Triple Crown in the modern era by adding Indianapolis 500 and Le Mans success to its recent achievements.
Brown has now armed Arrow McLaren with arguably its strongest collection of proven race winners yet in pursuit of that goal.
Dixon embraces a new chapter in Bruce McLaren's legacy
The biggest headline of this week’s new is the arrival of Scott Dixon.
After an extraordinary 25-season spell that made him synonymous with Chip Ganassi Racing, the six-time series champion is embarking on one of the most significant moves of his legendary career.
He is expected to take over the No. 7 Chevrolet, bringing unmatched consistency and championship pedigree to Arrow McLaren.

For Dixon, however, the switch carries meaning beyond trophies.
“Joining Arrow McLaren in 2027 is an exciting next step in my career,” Dixon said. “It was a big decision for myself, for my family, and I’m looking forward to contributing to what the team, Zak and Tony are building there.
"As a New Zealander, being part of Bruce McLaren’s legacy will be special; his spirit and grit are still very much rooted in that team, and I’m excited to carry that on.”
The Kiwi’s arrival also reunites him with Tony Kanaan, now Arrow McLaren's team principal, while adding another proven Indianapolis 500 contender to the team's growing arsenal.
Rosenqvist returns to familiar territory
If Dixon's signing turns heads, Rosenqvist's return adds another intriguing twist. The Swede heads back to Arrow McLaren after previously racing for the organization between 2021 and 2023, where he forged a close partnership with O'Ward.
He also shares extensive history with Dixon from their years together at Chip Ganassi Racing, giving the new-look lineup an immediate level of familiarity that many rivals can only envy.

Fresh off capturing the biggest victory of his career with this year's Indianapolis 500 triumph, Rosenqvist believes the reunited group can immediately hit the ground running.
“I’m excited to return to Arrow McLaren next season and reunite with Pato, of course, and also Tony, Zak and the crew and engineers I worked with previously,” said Rosenqvist.
“There are a lot of familiar faces, and we’ve got an incredible lineup with Scott joining and Ryan returning for the 500. I think our collective experience will be a huge benefit. I’ve still got work to do to finish this season strong, but I’m looking forward to what’s to come at Arrow McLaren.”
The move also sees Rosenqvist slide into the No. 6 Chevrolet currently occupied by Siegel, completing a dramatic overhaul of McLaren's driver lineup.
