Lewis Hamilton starts on pole position looking for his fifth victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, with no other current driver having won more than once at the venue. Nico Rosberg starts alongside Hamilton, with the two having collided in Spain last month but Rosberg yielding to allow his team-mate to go on and win in Monaco two weeks ago.

Both Ferrari and Red Bull look like they could pose a real threat to Mercedes, with Sebastian Vettel starting from third having challenged for pole position, and Daniel Ricciardo alongside him in fourth. Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen then make up row three.

Even if it stays dry this should be an exciting race throughout, with the top three teams all targeting victory and an extremely close midfield. Add in the threat of rain - with light showers having fallen throughout the morning - and very low temperatures and it could be a chaotic afternoon.

Join us for the start of the race which gets underway at 2pm local time (7pm BST). You can be sure that we will be bringing you all the news and information from trackside the minute it happens on F1i's live page.
