Red Bull's Max Verstappen has won his second Driver of the Day Award following the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Dutchman finished fourth in Montreal, having beaten his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo off the line from fifth on the grid and displayed superb defensive race craft in the final laps against Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg.
Verstappen’s first Driver of the Day accolade came after the 18-year-old became the youngest F1 race winner by taking victory in Spain last month.
The Red Bull ace is the second racer after Haas’ Romain Grosjean to pocket multiple ‘Driver of the Day’ awards.
The Frenchman scooped the first two prizes of the season in the wake of spirited performances in Australia and Bahrain. Other recipients feature Daniil Kvyat, then racing for Red Bull, in China, Renault’s Kevin Magnussen in Russia, and Force India’s Sergio Perez in Monaco.
The Driver of the Day award has been introduced this season, as F1 bosses seek to try and increase fan engagement.
