Following Esteban Ocon's impressive day of work with Mercedes at Silverstone on Tuesday, speculation about the Frenchman's future has started to ramp up.
Ocon is currently contracted to Renault as the French manufacturer's reserve driver, but is regularly loaned to Mercedes - for which Ocon drives in the German DTM series - for specific testing duties.
The rookie however is dismissing any talk about his future, and has chosen to conclude his season with the aim of doing his best, regardless of who he is driving for.
"Nothing is definite at the moment," explained Ocon.
" I don't even give it any thought. I take things as they come. My focus this year is on the DTM and on my Formula 1 test runs. I've not got round to thinking about next year yet. It's still too early in the season. "
Ocon did enjoy however his day in the Mercedes W07, and F1 obviously remains the primary target in his career.
"It's great to be given a chance like this in F1. My goal here is obviously to contest races at some point in the future, so I have to be well prepared and gain experience."
In the interim, the Frenchman will be looking to move up the DTM ranks is early as next weekend when the series resumes at Zandvoort, in Holland.
"I'd like to secure my first DTM points and get closer to the leaders. I think I can achieve that along with my team. We need to get more pace out of the car for that to happen. "
