Romain Grosjean believes that the brake material used by Haas is the root cause of the multiple brake failures suffered by the Frenchman recently.
The problem came to a head last Friday when Grosjean endured another problem in free practice in Suzuka, subsequently saying that the issue was "unacceptable" and "dangerous."
While the Haas driver enjoyed a relatively trouble-free race on Sunday, he insisted the Brembo brakes remain a problem.
"I think it's a material issue, said Grosjean."
"I'm very sensitive to the brakes so they can improve and that would help everyone. They are going to work and hopefully they will find a solution."
Team boss Guenther Steiner also underlined the fact that the brakes were not consistent enough, which in turn has an impact on a driver's confidence.
"It's not good enough and the biggest thing is if they work, they work fine but they're not consistent so you assume they work badly," explained Steiner.
"It's a strange thing to explain. If you know they're working good then you can brake at the last centimetre.
"You have always a buffer in there and then you realise you could've braked later but you cannot because if they are inconsistent or they don't do what they should be doing, you are off like we had in practice.
"You keep on working, it keeps us in our jobs!"
