Sato reflects on his Indy 500 success

Following the thrills and spills of Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Monday is traditionally the day when the new Indy 500 champion meets the press and fulfils a never-ending stream of media commitments.

This year, for the first time, this heavy burden fell to Takuma Sato - and he was revelling in every minute of it!

Part of the day's programme is a photo call which takes place on the start/finish line at IMS, right on the brickyard's iconic 'yard of bricks'.

Sato got to pose with the intimidating Borg-Warner Trophy. At five feet four inches (163cm) tall, the trophy is almost exactly the same height as Sato. And at 153 pounds (69 kg), it's actually a lot heavier than the Japanese driver's 130 pounds (59kg)!

Of all the pictures we saw from the session, this is the one that we liked the best. It's an unusual composition that manages to include almost every element of the greatest spectacle of motorsport in a single picture. It really is worth a thousand words.

Oh, and while you can't really put a price on it, Sunday's victory was worth $2,458,129 to Sato and the Andretti Autosport team. Cool!
