Mick Schumacher takes first F3 win!

It was in the running for some time but Mick Schumacher finally took his maiden win in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, and he did it at Spa, his father's favourite track.

The 19-year-old son of F1's seven-time world champion had the last word in a three-way battle on Saturday with fellow Prema Powerteam rivals Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong.

"I'm really happy with the win," said Schumacher, who carries the heritage of his father Michael who launched his F1 career at Spa, won his first Grand Prix in the Ardennes in 1992 and five other editions of the Belgian GP over the years.

"I was smiling about the rain - I like wet and drying conditions, the half-half we had today."

No doubt Michael would have also been smiling had he witnessed the impressive performance of the chip off the old block.
