Keeping up with the Verstappens: Jos wins big in Belgium

After Max Verstappen’s recent stunning triumph in the Sao Paulo GP, his father, Jos, put together a masterclass of his own last weekend in Belgium.

At the Rally Zuid-Limburg, the 52-year-old former F1 driver powered his trusty Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 to a crushing win in the two-day event.

With co-driver Renaud Jamoul by his side, ‘Jos the Boss’ won eleven of the rally’s twelve stages.

“It went really well, I am very pleased,” said the original Verstappen. “The course was slightly modified compared to last year. We also entered this race to test a few things, and there is no better place for that than a rally.

“We are aiming to keep improving ourselves. Things are going very well with my co-driver Renaud. He is incredibly driven and professional. You need a good connection and mutual respect, and that is certainly there. It is only getting better.”

Jos’ rally win isn’t just another notch on his belt; it’s a reminder once again that winning is, well, a family tradition.
