Nico Rosberg announced his new two-year contract at Mercedes in a Twitter video showing him and motorsport boss Toto Wolff putting pen to paper. The German had been widely expected to extend his spell with the team he joined in 2010, though recent on-track skirmishes with Lewis Hamilton had triggered speculation that Mercedes would be keen to explore a change at driver line-up. Wolff was quick to say that Rosberg's new deal ensures the reigning Constructors' champions retain "two number one drivers" through 2018.
