Darkness fell in Singapore and the star of the night was unquestionably Lando Norris despite a return to something like his old form for Max Verstappen. There were familiar troubles for Mercedes while Ferrari threw it all away with a terrible Saturday. Let's see who comes out of this with the best rating - and the worst.

Alexander Albon, Williams (Lap 16, Overheating): 6/10
Coming off the back of their spectacular success in Baku, nothing quite went right for Williams this week in Singapore and they just kept missing out by inches, Alex Albon especially. He was comfortably in the top ten throughout practice but then just missed out on the second cut in qualifying. Starting from 11th, he promptly got caught up in the first lap skirmishes and was swept wide, costing him four places. He was one of the first drivers to make a pit stop but just a few laps later a cooling issue with the car's power unit ended his race. It saved him having to toil around in that heat and humidity all evening when there was no realistic reward in prospect.

Kevin Magnussen, Haas (Retired, Lap 57): 6/10
Back from his one race ban, Kevin Magnussen didn't make it into the top ten at any point in practice so his elimination from qualifying at the end of Q2 was only to be expected, while his Haas team mate Nico Hulkenberg pulled off another impressive progression into the final top ten pole shootout round. In the race he was one of the minority of drivers to start on hard tyres but he didn't like them and switched to mediums relative early (lap 28). He subsequently clipped the wall and punctured one of his tyres forcing another stop, and shortly after that he pulled back down pit lane a third time to retire. With six races remaining before his second final exit from F1, Magnussen will be hoping for a netter note on which to finish
