Carlos Sainz, Ferrari (P2): 9.5/10
Over the past four years, whenever Charles Leclerc's has hit trouble, Carlos Sainz has picked up the baton and carried Ferrari's hopes forward. But on his own, the Spaniard – a superb stylist and performer – has been a valuable asset to the Scuderia, as he performed once again in Abu Dhabi. Alas, the Italian outfit's SF-24 just wasn't on par with McLaren's contender. But Sainz did his part, and Williams is surely looking forward to exploiting his recruit's talent and grit.

Lando Norris, McLaren, (P1): 9.5/10
By his own admission, Lando Norris' nerves flared up when he noticed on Yas Marina's giant timing screen Charles Leclerc's stunning progression. But the McLaren driver quickly set the distraction aside, focusing on keeping it all together at the front of the field – and he didn't put a foot wrong. McLaren's dominant package in Abu Dhabi proved to be the perfect partner-in-crime, complemented by team papaya's flawless execution. Given McLaren's remarkable progress since Miami and its relentless efforts to sustain its form, F1's gleaming Constructors' Trophy heading to Woking is well-deserved. As for Norris, one question lingers: can the Briton take it one step further in 2025 and seize the Drivers' crown?
