Gasly was driving the wheels off his Alpine all weekend, dragging it into seventh on the grid and effortlessly running alongside top-tier machinery. He was building an impressive gap over his garage companion and looked nailed-on for big points until he was ruthlessly torpedoed at Turn 1 through zero fault of his own. Pure daylight robbery.
Franco Colapinto, Alpine (DNF / P17) – 2/10
A textbook lesson in how to completely destroy a team’s weekend in a split second. Brilliant work on Saturday earned him P9, but any goodwill vanished when he overcooked the restart into Turn 1. Locking up and harpooning his own teammate while taking out Norris in the process is the ultimate racing sin. Remorse won't repair Alpine's shattered budget cap.
