While championship leader Kimi Antonelli made victory look easy with a cool, controlled masterclass in the United States Grand Prix, the battle behind featured plenty of strategic gambles and late-race charges. Here is our spicy, unfiltered driver-by-driver breakdown from a tactical Sunday at te Circuit of the Americas.

Oliver Bearman, Haas (DNF) – 3/10

A thoroughly miserable afternoon for the young Briton in Austin. After reporting handling gremlins that saw Haas order him to let his teammate through, Bearman’s race descended into chaos with an overly optimistic move on Gasly. The resulting collision earned him a ten-second penalty and terminally damaged his car. An uncharacteristically messy performance that he will want to erase from his memory quickly.

Franco Colapinto, Alpine (DNF) – 5/10

Mired near the tail end of the grid after taking an engine penalty, Colapinto spent his brief race stuck in standard midfield traffic. Before he could show any real recovery pace or attempt an alternative strategy, battle damage forced an early exit after 35 laps. Not really his fault, but there is simply not enough data to score him higher.
