McLaren has released a trailer of ‘Don’t Crack Under Pressure’, a special film honouring its 30-year partnership with TAG Heuer, in which Fernando Alonso races team-mate Jenson Button in Ayrton Senna’s 1988 MP4/4.
The clip sees the two drivers battle it out at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will host its 25th Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.
While the 2009 world champion is in his regular MP4-30, the Spaniard slots in behind the wheel of the iconic red-and-white car Senna drove to his first world title.
The trailer also comes at a time when McLaren-Honda confirms its cars will sport a new graphite-grey livery in lieu of their current chrome scheme for round five of this year’s championship.
The Honda-powered MP4/4 remains one of the most successful F1 cars ever to compete in the sport. In the hands of Senna and archenemy Alain Prost, it won 15 out of 16 Grand Prix in 1988 and clinched all but one pole position that year.
‘Don’t Crack Under Pressure’ will be released on Thursday 7 May.
