Honda was satisfied with a filming day at the Circuit de Catalunya on Monday as it got more mileage with its new power unit.
The McLaren-Honda MP4-30 only completed 79 laps throughout the whole first test at Jerez, with a number of issues confining the car to the garage for long periods of each day. With the second test set to get underway on Thursday, McLaren was at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona on Monday to carry out a filming day.
With running limited to no more than 100km - around 21 laps of the Montmelo circuit - each team can carry out two such days per year. Jenson Button was at the wheel of the car on Monday, and Honda confirmed to F1i that it had been able to carry out its planned filming.
More filming will take place at the circuit on Tuesday, with Button and Fernando Alonso the focus, but the car itself is not scheduled to run again until the start of the second test.
The second pre-season test runs from February 19-22, with the final test taking place from February 26-March 1.
