A picture of what appears to be Renault’s 2016 F1 race livery has been circulating on Twitter, with the R.S.16 ditching it all-black garb to sport yellow colours with a matt finish.
The car was launched in an interim livery in Paris last month, with Renault Sport Racing president Jérôme Stoll hinting it was likely to change by the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
The R.S.16 would now don a predominantly yellow livery with some additional black, thus harking back to the French manufacturer’s historic colour scheme.
If the leaked snapshot is genuine indeed, Renault will just hope the new design will not mean the return of the ‘Yellow Teaport’ moniker associated with the constructor’s reliability issues in the original turbo era.
