Max Verstappen rarely bothers with statistics, but the Dutchman admitted to being proud to equal the win tally in Formula 1 of the great Ayrton Senna.
Verstappen was once again in a league of his own in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, the Dutchman delivering to Red Bull a milestone 100th victory in F1 while securing his 41st career win in the sport.
"I hate to compare different generations but, from my side, the only thing I can say is that when I was a little kid driving in go-karts, I was dreaming about being a Formula 1 driver, and I would've never imagined to win 41 Grands Prix," Verstappen said in Montreal.
"So, of course, to tie with Ayrton is something incredible. I'm proud of that, but of course, I hope it's not stopping here. I hope that we can keep on winning more races."
Verstappen realised his winning track record over 171 races while Senna reached his 41-victory tally over 161 races.
However, the Dutchman won half of his 41 victories in the last 30 races, or since the beginning of F1's ground-effect era that started in 2022.

While the two-time world champion sits in esteemed company in the history books, his accomplishments are first and foremost a testament to his exceptional driving abilities, fearless racing style, and unwavering commitment to success, but also to Red Bull's technical excellence.
"I have won 41 of [Red Bull's 100 wins], so we'll talk about maybe a new contract because of that!" added might Max.
"No honestly, it's a great achievement for the team. You know, we knew that this was the first opportunity to do so, and I'm happy that's done with a hundred.
"But again, I hope we win more than a hundred - so the new target's 200!"
