After Mercedes dominated proceedings on Friday, Ferrari hit back during FP3 to set the fastest times as Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were just 0.04s apart. However, Mercedes' lap times from FP2 remain the quickest of the weekend so far, some 0.6s faster than Ferrari managed earlier today.

Williams and Haas both looked quick in final practice and could be eyeing a place in Q3, while McLaren faded after an impressive run on Friday. However, FP2 remains the most representative running for the teams as it also took place under floodlights, while FP3 saw high track temperatures as a result of the afternoon sun.

Today's qualifying format will be the same as in Australia after F1's key stakeholders failed to unanimously agree on a change despite the largely negative response to elimination-style qualifying at the first race.

Following an initial spell of time to complete initial laps, Q1 and Q2 will each see seven drivers eliminated at 90-second intervals. Q3 then consists of a shootout between the top eight, with drivers again eliminated at 90-second intervals.
