Wolff: Ferrari yet to show its best

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is wary Ferrari has yet to show its true pace in the opening two races of the season.

Going in search of a third consecutive championship double, Mercedes has started 2016 in fine form with a one-two finish in Australia and first and third in Bahrain. However, on both occasions Ferrari has only managed to get one car to finish the race and has shown the pace to challenge for victory.

While Wolff says the results have been pleasing he acknowledges the signs from Ferrari suggest there are difficult races ahead this season.

Asked during the Silver Arrows Show how he views Mercedes' start to the season, Wolff replied: “Very good.

"Two races in, one-two, one-three, it doesn’t go much better. We haven’t seen the best out of Ferrari yet, they are struggling with reliability. We have seen glimpses of pace and they have definitely caught up. It’s more difficult for us, but so far with our results I am actually happy.”
