Haas F1 Team boss Guenther Steiner says drivers Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez are still under scrutiny with regard to the pair remaining with Haas for 2017.
While Steiner believes it would probably be in the team's best interest to keep his current line-up intact for next season, he was still in the process of evaluating both men, with no decision likely to be made until the end of the European campaign.
"We want to see what happens after Monza, then we’ll see," Steiner said.
"We’re in no hurry, we know what we can do, we know we are safe for next year, so we don’t have to panic or anything. When you’re confident in what you’re doing, you normally don’t try to do anything radical."
With Kimi Raikkonen's contract with Ferrari extended into next year, Romain Grosjean, a potential candidate to replace the Finn, looks set to remain with Haas, having scored 28 points for the US squad so far.
Gutierrez on the other hand has yet to finish a race in the top 10 until Steiner concedes that it has not been all clear sailing for the Mexican.
"I think now even to evaluate Esteban wouldn’t be fair because he had a few races where the circumstances didn’t help him; an accident, the car broke down.
"We don’t put pressure onto anybody and if you start to speak to people, speculation starts, people get insecure and you don’t get the best out of the drivers."
Consequently, the team won't be announcing anything on its driver's front until after the summer.
"We agreed between us that we don’t really want to talk about drivers before the European season is over because we need to see what we’ve got."
