The Mercedes pair have dominated throughout practice, with Lewis Hamilton putting 0.4s between himself and team-mate Nico Rosberg in the final session on Saturday morning. Mercedes appears to have got on top of its struggles with the supersoft tyre which saw it challenged for pole position in Spa-Francorchamps a week ago.
Ferrari positioned itself as the closest challenger during FP3, with Sebastian Vettel third and Kimi Raikkonen fourth as the Scuderia introduced a new power unit this weekend. The gap to Hamilton was 0.9s, however, making it likely the Tifosi will have to view the second row as a success.
Red Bull appears to have a fight on its hands with Williams getting ahead of it in final practice, while Force India, Haas and McLaren all looked closely matched in the final hour before qualifying.
While Haas is eyeing a spot in Q3, Romain Grosjean will have to take a five-place grid penalty after qualifying as a result of a gearbox change following his spin at the Ascari chicane this morning.
